As a reliable alternative to road haulage, shortsea rounds out HAROPA PORT’s multimodal rail & river offering and contributes to a reduction in the environmental footprint of the supply chain. The development of this market offering is also part of a determined effort by the actors to strengthen near-distance sourcing.

  • a dedicated shortsea maritime offering to/from the main markets in Europe and neighbouring countries,
  • a feeder offering based on transhipment to/from secondary French and European ports,
  • a ferry offering of regular services to/from the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Le Havre enjoys an ideal position with Great Britain. Since 2015, HAROPA PORT and Le Havre Seine Métropole have been contributing to the development of Brittany Ferries services.

With fast and fluid access to the national and European motorway network, the Great Britain terminal is located in the immediate proximity of the major consumption and production basins of the Seine valley and the Greater West.

Fully equipped to handle UE and un-EU flows, the ferry terminal have been redesigned to meet new post-Brexit controls :

  • creation of 140 heavy goods vehicle and trailer parking places,
  • installation of a European entry control zone for border police and customs,
  • improvements to facilitate the traffic flows on the terminal.

Brittany Ferries offers two regular lines from Le Havre to UK :

These shortsea services supplement HAROPA PORT’s maritime offering of regular deep-sea services with connections to around 700 ports around the world provided by 50 shipping lines.
